Ulrick Matsunaga Recognized as Finalist in Annual Tribute to Business Leaders Under 40
San Diego Business Journal Pays Tribute to City’s Rising Stars
SAN DIEGO (Wednesday, July 30, 2025) – Ulrick Matsunaga, an attorney at Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson (CGS3), was recently recognized as a finalist in the San Diego Business Journal’s “Next Top Business Leaders Under 40” for 2025. This annual tribute honors San Diego’s most promising young leaders in a variety of industries.

With over a decade of high-level corporate experience, Matsunaga offers a rare blend of strategic vision and operational precision. “His background in both consulting and corporate operations allows him to deliver thoughtful, actionable advice in the nuanced world of commercial real estate and tax law,” Southard adds. “We are very proud to see Ulrick honored among the best under 40.”
Before joining CGS3, Matsunaga served as a senior operations leader at Sonder Holdings, Inc., a publicly traded hospitality company. He previously spent seven years at Deloitte Consulting, rising through the ranks from business analyst to manager.
Matsunaga holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He is an active member of NAIOP San Diego, a committed supporter and volunteer with the Oceanside Museum of Art, and a wildlife champion of the San Diego Wildlife Alliance.
