For the publication’s inaugural Lawyers in Real Estate Award, CONNECT selected 50 attorneys – representing a variety of disciplines – from throughout the country. Attorneys were selected for excelling in their respective practices as well as for contributions to their communities.
A long-recognized San Diego attorney, Burchett has extensive expertise in mixed use, urban infill, master planned communities and condominium developments and has specialized in subdivision processing with the California Department of Real Estate.
Prior to joining CGS3 she was a partner with Withers Bergman LLP, and began her legal career at Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps, where she became a partner. She continued as a partner when Luce merged with McKenna Long & Aldridge and when McKenna merged with Dentons US LLP.
Additionally, she is an active community leader – serving on multiple boards and committees, among them the YMCA San Diego Camps board of management, facilities/capital committee and Real Estate Task Force; the San Diego and California Building Industry Association, DRE committees; San Diego County Bar Association, Real Property Law Section and Bar Foundation, the Downtown San Diego Partnership, board of directors and co-chair of Women of the Partnership; and Lawyers Club San Diego. She also contributes her time each summer to Rancho Genesis, a camp for orphans in Ensenada, Mexico and serves on the Advisory Board of Genesis International Orphanage Foundation, its U.S. non-profit fundraising entity.
She was recently installed as a member of Lambda Alpha International (LAI) – a global professional society devoted to the advancement of land economics.
