CGS3 Attract Additional Large Firm and In-House Talent as They Continue to Expand Their Commercial Real Estate Footprint

September 10, 2013 CGS3 CGS3 Team

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 10, 2013) – Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLP (CGS3) continues to attract seasoned real estate legal professionals with the addition of another attorney and a senior paralegal. Both bring a combination of “Big Law” and in-house experience to this recently launched firm that will further bolster CGS3’s efforts to lead the evolution in the delivery of legal services in a market undergoing dramatic change.

Ann Maas has joined the firm as Of Counsel. With more than 20-years’ experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions of all types, Maas most recently affiliated with Mintz Levin, where she specialized in tenant/end-user leasing matters. Previously, she served as in-house counsel with Equastone, a San Diego based real estate investment firm, and as an associate at Allen Matkins, where she worked closely with CGS3 founding partner Ray Gliner.

Paulette Farquhar, also with more than 20-years of legal experience, has joined the firm as a senior paralegal. Farquhar’s experience includes five years as an in-house paralegal with Kelly Investment Group, a private-equity firm where she focused on real estate acquisitions and investments, and 10 years as a senior paralegal with Latham and Watkins, LLP, where she specialized in handling complex title and due diligence matters associated with acquisitions, dispositions and financing of both high profile public utility projects and retail, office and other commercial projects.

“Ann and Paulette are important additions to our team, which is quickly becoming one of the largest private-practice real estate groups in San Diego,” said founding partner Tom Crosbie. “We are thrilled to have Ann back with us. Her tenant-side representation experience compliments our recognized landlord/developer-side leasing practice and is a testament to our commitment to our approach to getting deals done for our clients in an efficient and pragmatic manner. With the addition of Paulette, we now have a very versatile and seasoned real estate paralegal, who fills a critical role on our team and adds immediate value to our acquisition/disposition and finance practices.” CGS3 was established to bring a lean, client-first approach to the commercial real estate industry. The firm offers a breadth of experience and bench strength typically found only in larger firms, with the flexibility and efficiency to help clients quickly realize their business goals.

The five founding partners left Allen Matkins in July to open the firm and quickly added two additional partners from Allen Matkins. With the addition of Maas, CGS3 now has eight highly experienced and skilled commercial real estate attorneys serving an impressive and growing list of local and national clients.
