Joe von Meier Named Top Attorney

SAN DIEGO (May 29, 2020) – Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLP (CGS3) partner Joe von Meier has been named one of San Diego’s Top Attorneys for 2020 by SD Metro, a leading San Diego business publication.
Well deserving of this accolade, von Meier was promoted to partner at CGS3 in 2019. He joined the firm in 2017 as senior counsel and embarked on his legal career at a Chicago-based Burke, Warren, Mackay and Serritella, where he worked for 15 years – climbing the ranks to partner. Specializing in commercial real estate law with an emphasis on development and construction related transactional matters, von Meier represents clients from across the country – concentrating his practice on high-profile, complex real estate transactions with a focus on student housing, multifamily, luxury residential and retail development and construction.
He knows all aspects of the development process, from entity formation and financing to leasing and disposition, and his expertise extends to the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts and architecture/engineering agreements on behalf of both owners and general contractors.
In addition to his extensive work in development and construction, he represents investors, landlords, tenants, and owner/operators in an array of commercial real estate disciplines.
Active in his profession he is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the San Diego County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
He holds his B.B.A from University of Michigan, and a J.D. cum laude from University of Wisconsin Law School.
