CGS3’s Steven Otto Selected to Lambda Alpha International
SAN DIEGO (Sept. 2023) – Steven Otto, a partner with Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLP (CGS3), was inducted earlier this year as a member of prestigious Lambda Alpha International (LAI), a high honor reserved for those who have distinguished themselves in land economics-related activities.
Membership to LAI is selective and honorary and via nomination only by a current member. To be considered, a nominee must have 10 years of experience in his/her field, have made an outstanding contribution to land economics, and demonstrate a commitment to public service and professional ethics.
LAI is a global professional society devoted to the advancement of land economics. Providing a forum of exchange of ideas in land use and development, LAI members engage in the fields of real estate, real estate development, real estate management, land use, urban planning, architecture, law, government, academia, and all other professions that deal with use, study, and economics of land.
Otto joined the real estate transactions group at Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLC (CGS3) as a partner in 2021. Prior to CGS3, he worked for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation as a senior attorney and for several other top tier San Diego law firms. Adept at structuring complex transactions, his experience spans the acquisition, development, leasing, licensing and sale of office, industrial and retail portfolios, and mixed-use office/retail projects. With a unique ability to handle out-of-the-box deals, he frequently draws on his engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy, as well as his military service, to develop solutions to complex issues and deal structures.
In addition to Lambda Alpha International, he is a member of NAIOP and as well as the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni association and the UC San Diego Rady Network. He holds an M.B.A. from the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego, a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
