Fernando Landa

CGS3 Attorney Lauded by San Diego Business Journal

SAN DIEGO (December 6, 2021) – Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson (CGS3) attorney Fernando Landa has been named to the 2021 edition of the SD500 Most Influential People in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal.

According to the San Diego Business Journal, the list of honorees represents those in San Diego who are influential and stand apart for their unique roles in building the San Diego business community.  The SD500 List includes leaders in a wide range of industries including business services, finance, health and science, law, technology, wealth and investments and icons in the community.

The SD500 List is the market’s most comprehensive listing of business community leaders in the San Diego area and is chosen on editorial merit alone.  Selected by the San Diego Business Journal newsroom, the list includes executives and experts in their field, who have established, or are currently managing, significant companies.  The List of Influential Business Leaders was first published in 2016 to serve the community with local market intelligence on which business professionals to be aware of in each industry.

Landa represents public real estate investment trusts, private equity funds, institutional investors and entrepreneurial developers in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and disposition of commercial real estate assets. Specializing in transactional matters, he has broad expertise working on large deals across the country and across the asset spectrum.  With a unique proficiency in distressed real estate workouts and receiverships – managing the sale of nearly $1 billion dollars of real estate assets through the judicial process over the last five years – Fernando is uniquely positioned to handle the anticipated onslaught of lease defaults and loan workouts fueled by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He has worked for such prestigious law firms as Allen Matkins and Hecht Solberg Robinson Goldberg & Bagley, LLP, and also worked as general counsel for Trigild, a real estate services firm with offices nationwide.  In 2013, he joined CGS3 – now recognized in Chambers Guide USA and one of the region’s premier commercial real estate law firms – as its seventh partner.  His legal and leadership achievements have been recognized by various media and professional organizations: the California Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section awarded him the prestigious Morning Star award, given to the top five young real estate attorneys in the state.  He has been recognized by Super Lawyers every year since 2016, including as a “Rising Star” in 2016, 2017 and 2018.  He also received the “REXIE Office Transaction of the Year” Recipient (representation of Trigild in a 207,000-square foot office lease) from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Inland Empire Chapter.

Active both professionally and in the community, he is currently co-president of the San Diego chapter of the California Receivers Forum and also serves on the board of the San Diego chapter of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).  As a former board member of the San Diego Building Industry Political Action Committee (PAC) and a founding board member of the buildSD PAC, he provides grassroots and financial assistance for candidates seeking elected office that support the real estate industry.
